On the occasion of Nepal National Water and Weather Week (NNWWW) 2026, the Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS), Small Earth Nepal (SEN), Nepal Development Research Institute (NDRI), and Nepal Water Conservation Foundation (NWCF)—in collaboration with the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS) are organizing a national symposium titled “Transforming Local Water Security: Connecting Research, Action, and Policy.”

Supported by ACIAR and CSIRO through the Muhan Project, the symposium will engage researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and development professionals to critically examine Nepal’s growing water insecurities.

The symposium will serve as a collaborative platform to share evidence, experiences, and innovations that can inform long-term, sustainable solutions for local water security.
