We are looking for purpose-driven individuals for the following roles.

Legal & Compliance Officer

1 opening 1 year 5 hours / week

Help ensure our nonprofit operates ethically, transparently, and in full compliance with Nepal's legal and regulatory environment.

  • Ensure compliance with Company Act (OCR) and SWC regulations, including registrations, filings, and reporting.
  • Manage and maintain a dual compliance calendar (OCR filings, SWC reporting, donor requirements).
  • Draft, review, and manage agreements (MoUs, partnerships, contracts).
  • Lead and support the Annual General Meeting (AGM), including documentation, board coordination, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support audit processes by organizing documentation and coordinating with auditors (financial + compliance aspects).
  • Develop and maintain key organizational policies (governance, finance, HR, data/privacy, conflict of interest).
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and project approvals (via SWC where applicable).
  • Advise the team on legal risks, governance practices, and ethical decision-making.
  • Strengthen transparency and accountability across programs, partnerships, and operations.
  • Background in law, compliance, public policy, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in legal/compliance roles is preferred, especially in NGOs, nonprofit structures.
  • Understanding of Nepal's Company Act and SWC regulations.
  • Familiarity with donor compliance and audit processes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and policy-writing skills.
  • Ability to simplify legal concepts for non-legal team members.

Climate Communicator (Writer)

Help make climate change understandable, relatable, and engaging for youth and the wider public by translating complex ideas into clear, accessible content, so we can educate, inspire, and empower meaningful climate action.

What you’ll do

  • Write clear, engaging, and easy-to-understand content on climate topics for diverse audiences.
  • Break down complex concepts such as climate justice, loss and damage, climate finance, mitigation, and adaptation into relatable narratives.
  • Create content that highlights local and global climate issues, including the perspectives of indigenous and vulnerable communities.
  • Develop blogs, articles, social media posts, and educational materials aligned with Nepal Climate Hub's mission.
  • Research climate topics and ensure accuracy while keeping content simple and impactful.
  • Collaborate with the team to align content with campaigns, programs, and outreach activities.
  • Use storytelling techniques to connect climate issues with everyday life and youth experiences.
  • Continuously experiment with formats and styles to improve engagement and reach.

Indigenous Climate Storyteller

1 opening 6 months 5 hours / week

Help center indigenous voices in climate conversations by documenting, sharing, and amplifying the knowledge, lived experiences, and stories of indigenous communities.

What you’ll do

  • Document and share stories, knowledge systems, and lived experiences of indigenous communities in relation to climate change.
  • Highlight key issues such as traditional ecological knowledge, climate impacts, resilience, and adaptation practices.
  • Write and develop content (articles, narratives, profiles, campaigns) that authentically represent indigenous voices.
  • Work closely with the design and social media team to transform stories into engaging, impactful content formats.
  • Build relationships and coordinate with indigenous communities to ensure ethical, respectful, and accurate storytelling.
  • Ensure stories are shared in a way that empowers communities and avoids misrepresentation or exploitation.
  • Contribute to campaigns and initiatives that amplify indigenous perspectives in climate discourse.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong interest or lived connection to indigenous communities and their knowledge systems.
  • Candidates from indigenous communities are strongly preferred to ensure authenticity and lived perspective.
  • Experience or interest in storytelling, writing, documentation, or community engagement.
  • Understanding of climate change issues, especially how they impact indigenous communities.
  • Ability to communicate stories with sensitivity, respect, and cultural awareness.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with design and social media teams.
  • Self-driven, empathetic, and committed to ethical storytelling.
  • Bonus: prior experience in advocacy, community work, storytelling, or writing related to indigenous rights, climate justice, or social impact.

Climate Justice Advocate

1 opening long term 5 hours / week

Help advance climate justice by advocating for equitable, inclusive, and Global South-centered action. You will amplify Nepal's voice in global conversations and bridge the gap between local realities and international youth climate movements.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and contribute to climate justice advocacy efforts at Nepal Climate Hub.
  • Advocate for climate issues from Nepal and Global South perspectives in local and international spaces.
  • Engage and coordinate with youth activists and organizations from the Global North for events, dialogues, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Represent Nepal Climate Hub in events, panels, workshops, and discussions as a speaker or facilitator.
  • Contribute to planning and leading campaigns, discussions, and initiatives focused on climate justice, equity, and loss & damage.
  • Write articles, opinion pieces, and content that highlight climate justice issues and perspectives.
  • Collaborate with the communications and social media team to amplify advocacy messages and campaigns.
  • Support internal learning by sharing knowledge, insights, and experiences with the team.

What we’re looking for

  • At least 2 years of experience in climate advocacy, preferably within youth-led organizations.
  • Proven experience in leading, speaking at, or actively participating in climate-related events, forums, or campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of climate justice issues, especially from Global South and Nepal perspectives.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and confidently in both written and spoken formats.
  • Experience working or engaging with diverse, international youth communities is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and coordination skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and passionate about climate justice and youth engagement.

SEO Strategist

1 opening 3 months 5 hours / week

Help position Nepal Climate Hub as the go-to digital platform for climate information in Nepal by optimizing our content, platforms, and initiatives for search visibility, so anyone searching for climate topics, events, or resources finds us first.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve the visibility of Nepal Climate Hub across search engines.
  • Conduct keyword research related to climate change topics in Nepal (e.g., climate events, climate blogs, youth initiatives).
  • Optimize website content, blogs, and directories (such as event listings) for search engines.
  • Work with content, design, and tech teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated across all platforms.
  • Improve on-page SEO (titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, etc.).
  • Identify opportunities to rank for high-impact search queries related to climate in Nepal.
  • Track and analyze performance using tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, etc.) and refine strategies accordingly.

Climate Content Associate

Help keep Nepal Climate Hub updated, relevant, and valuable by sourcing, organizing, and publishing climate-related information. You will make our platform a trusted, go-to resource for events, opportunities, news, and learning materials in Nepal.

What you’ll do

  • Continuously research and collect information on climate-related events (conferences, webinars), opportunities (jobs, internships, fellowships, training), news, and resources.
  • Update and manage the platform through the CMS, ensuring all listings are accurate, timely, and well-structured.
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging descriptions for events, opportunities, and resources.
  • Ensure content is categorized, tagged, and organized for easy discovery by users.
  • Collaborate with the SEO and communications team to improve visibility and reach of listings.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all published content.
  • Identify gaps in available information and proactively source new content.
  • Ensure outdated information is removed or updated regularly.

Help bring Nepal Climate Hub's stories, ideas, and impact to life through engaging and visually compelling videos, so climate knowledge becomes more accessible, relatable, and shareable for young people across Nepal.

What you’ll do

  • Create engaging short-form content such as reels, shorts, and bite-sized explainer videos for social media platforms.
  • Edit longer-form videos including interviews, storytelling pieces, and educational content.
  • Collaborate closely with the storytelling, writing, and digital community teams to translate ideas into impactful visual narratives.
  • Add motion graphics, subtitles, transitions, and basic animations to enhance video quality and clarity.
  • Ensure videos align with Nepal Climate Hub's brand voice, tone, and mission.
  • Optimize videos for different platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) and audience engagement.

What you’ll do

  • Design high-quality social media graphics (posts, carousels, stories, banners) aligned with Nepal Climate Hub's brand.
  • Translate ideas, scripts, and content from the storytelling team into visually engaging designs.
  • Collaborate closely with the storytelling and digital community teams to ensure visuals support engagement and communication goals.

Help ensure Nepal Climate Hub is accessible and inclusive for all users including people with disabilities by improving usability, readability, and navigation across our platform, so everyone can easily access climate information and resources.

What you’ll do

  • Research user needs and accessibility challenges across different user groups (visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments).
  • Design and prototype improved website interfaces that enhance accessibility and usability.
  • Ensure proper color contrast, readable typography, and scalable text for better readability.

Nischal Raj Gautam

Nischal Raj is a Youth Representative at the World Food Forum, and a Global Youth Ambassador at Theirworld. He also serves as a Plastic Free NextGen Fellow and has been recognized as a South Asian Climate Justice Fellow and Resilient Youth Network Fellow. His work focuses on climate-smart agriculture, food security, and policy advocacy, with passions for sustainability, climate resilience, organic farming, and community empowerment.
