Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Nepal 2026

Empowering Youth,Sustaining the Future

The Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Nepal is a national youth-led climate conference endorsed by YOUNGO, the official children and youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It brings together young people from across the country to discuss concurrent climate issues, strengthen their knowledge and leadership, and develop collective youth positions ahead of the annual Conference of Parties (COP). Since its emergence around COP21 and the Paris Agreement in 2015, LCOY has become an important platform for strengthening youth participation in climate governance, enabling young people to engage in climate dialogue, understand national and global climate processes, and contribute their perspectives to climate policy and action.

About LCOY Nepal 2026

LCOY Nepal 2026 is a youth-led national climate conference co-organized by Youth Action for Sustainable and Eco Nepal (YASEN) and Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA). Endorsed by YOUNGO, the conference serves as Nepal's official Local Conference of Youth, connecting Nepalese youth with national and international climate processes.

Through expert-led sessions, policy simulations, thematic discussions, and collaborative learning, participants will strengthen their knowledge, leadership, and advocacy skills all while contributing to climate solutions rooted in Nepal's local realities.

The conference will culminate in the development of the National Children and Youth Statement on Climate Change 2026, which will be submitted to the Government of Nepal and contribute to global youth climate discussions.
