OUR STORY

Nepal Climate Hub was envisioned by Bibek, our founder, who recognized the need for a centralized climate platform after participating in the Local Conference of Youth Nepal 2023, part of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Coming from a tech background, with little to no knowledge of climate change, he struggled to find clear, accessible information on local climate initiatives. The scattered and incomplete resources on the internet made it difficult to understand Nepal's climate landscape and take meaningful action. Realizing that others faced the same challenge, he envisioned a digital hub to simplify the climate journey for people like him.

In March 2024, he joined the Climatebase Fellowship – an accelerator program for ambitious, mission-driven professionals in climate – where he teamed up with Elaine, Manon, and Tara to bring this idea to life. What began as a capstone project has now evolved into Nepal Climate Hub - a growing non-profit led by a passionate multidisciplinary team, driving action for a climate-resilient Nepal.

Our Mission

Our mission is to educate, connect, and empower Nepal's youth to drive meaningful climate action.

Our Vision

A climate-resilient Nepal led by informed, engaged, and empowered young people.

The Challenge

Despite growing climate activism, Nepal's youth face significant barriers:

Climate protest with youth holding a globe balloon

Fragmented, Inaccessible Information

Climate resources, opportunities, and updates are scattered across niche networks and social media, making it difficult for young people to find structured, accessible, and beginner-friendly information to navigate their climate journey.

Stacked documents and papers

Lack of Visibility and Collaboration

Many individuals and organizations engaged in climate action struggle to gain recognition, limiting their ability to expand their impact and collaborate effectively.

Laptop and notebook on a desk

Limited and Unequal Youth Engagement

Youth participation in climate action is mostly confined to environmental disciplines, restricting diverse perspectives and innovation. Moreover, climate events are often centered in Kathmandu, creating accessibility barriers for youth across Nepal.

Our Solution

Nepal Climate Hub is a one-stop digital hub where Nepal's climate community can stay informed, unified, and empowered to amplify their voices for greater impact and reach.
