Freshwater & Community Conservation Externship – Spring 2026 (Remote / Global)
The Freshwater and Community Conservation Externship is a fully remote, short-term externship led by the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy, designed to equip young people with the skills, tools, and mentorship needed to take action for nature.
This 8-week, part-time program offers training, research experience, and mentorship for youth interested in freshwater conservation, community engagement, and environmental storytelling. No prior experience in conservation is required.
Eligibility:
Open to applicants worldwide
Ages 18–25
No prior coursework or work experience in conservation required
Program Details:
10 hours per week for 8 weeks (February 9 – April 6, 2026)
Fully remote
$500 stipend upon successful completion
