He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Prakriti Resources Centre (PRC), an organization based in Kathmandu that focuses on sustainable development and environmental justice in Nepal.

Chhetri has dedicated much of his career to working within international climate change policy frameworks, particularly under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF). He has been actively involved in climate negotiations, representing the interests of the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Group, and has provided support to LDC Board Members of the GCF. In addition to his role at PRC, Raju is a member of the Climate Change Council for the Government of Nepal and serves on the Climate Finance Technical Committee within the Ministry of Finance.
