I am Pratima Khadgi currently studying for a Master's in Environmental Science at Central Department of Environmental Science (CDES), Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

Ater joining B.Sc. I joined NYCA (Nepali Youth For Climate Change) as a volunteer from where I got to learn about soft skills like communication, networking and leadership.

I have always been focused on educating , empowering and improving the livelihood of people from the local level. So, I did my bachelor’s thesis work on waste to energy project for indigenous community i.e. Raji community of Barahtaal Rural Municipality of Surkhet District.

During the lockdown phase, I got selected for 8 weeks of Bagmati River Basin Youth Program, where I got a diamond category award on the topic “ Waste to best , Let Bagmati be the better place” project which was focused on educating the slums community on proper waste segregation. I have also conducted various campaigns on climate action focusing on indigenous knowledge on climate action. The program Climate Culture was conducted as a Project Lead from NYCA, where the importance of youth participation and culture for climate action was highlighted.

I was then selected as Youth Climate Catalyst Cohort I from UNDP , Nepal, from where I got a chance to participate at COP 28 , UAE, Dubai focusing on Youths, Children and indigenous themes.

Now , I am working as Environment Lead at Peace for People and also working as Project Consultant at Transparency International Nepal on Climate Governance Integrity Program.
